An investigation is underway after a young person was thrown from a quad in a collision in north west Donegal.
Two quads were involved in a crash in Gortahork last Saturday. Both quads were travelling in the same direction on the N56 from Gortahork to Falcarragh when they collided outside Óstán Loch Altan sometime between 5.50pm and 6.10pm.
A young male was thrown from their vehicle and suffered injuries on impact with the ground. He was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital.
Gardaí were not called to the scene on Saturday evening, but they were notified of the collision afterwards. Investigations are now taking place and gardaí are anxious to speak with the driver of the other quad.
“It is unfortunate, but it is possible these people were racing at the time,” commented Sgt Eunan Walsh.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has any information is asked to contact Gardaí in Milford on 0749153060.
