Donegal businesses in the spotlight in tourism series

Four businesses and tourist hotspots in south Donegal will feature in a special tourism segment of Virgin Media’s Six O’Clock Show this Thursday evening.

A TV crew headed north west recently to meet the people behind local attractions for Failte Ireland’s Make A Break For It domestic tourism campaign.

The feature will follow TV presenter, writer & podcaster Nadine Reid as she discovers great local staycation suggestions in Killybegs and Kilcar.

Presenter Nadine Reid visits Ronan Cunningham at The Fish Stop for the catch of the day – and song of the day

Nadine tested out the new Hooked & Cooked Seafood Experience, which is a collaboration between Atlantic Treasures – The Fish Stop and Hughie’s Bar, Killybegs. She meets the famous singing fishmonger Ronan Cunningham as they choose some fresh fish to be seasoned and cooked at Hughie’s. The visit comes at a great time for The Fish Stop as it celebrates one year in business this weekend.

While in the area, Nadine also heads out on a fun tuna fishing expedition around the Sliabh Liag with Tuna Ireland and she visits Studio Donegal, the award-winning woollen mill which is a favourite of  US actress Sarah Jessica Parker’s when she is holidaying in Kilcar.

Catch the ‘Make a Break for It’ feature on the Six O’Clock Show on Virgin Media One, Thursday, at 6pm.
