An interim examiner has been appointed to save jobs in the Cara Pharmacy Group.
The High Court has appointed Mr Ken Tyrell of PWC as the interim examiner of the group, which is owned by husband and wife team Canice and Ramona Nicholas, of Dragon’s Den fame.
RTE News reports that Mr and Mrs Nicholas opposed the High Court application.
The Cara group of pharmacies operates 13 pharmacies which are headquartered in Ballyshannon. Over 160 people are employed in the company.
Elm Corporate Credit DAC, the largest creditor of Cara Pharmacy Group, made the move to seek the appointment of an examiner. The High Court heard that Elm is owed €14 million by the healtcare group.
