IN-FORM DONEGAL jockey Luke McAteer won for the third day on the trot this afternoon.

McAteer won the Paddy Power Free Live Streaming On Our App Nursery Handicap at Down Royal.

McAteer took Jim Bolger’s 11/4 fancy Verbal Fencing to victory. McAteer had a nose to spare, edging in front of Barretstown right on the line.

Yesterday, McAteer won the Irish Racing Working Together Handicap at Punchestown on We’ll Go Again (4/1) having also won for Bolger, aboard Ivy Avenue (7/2) in the MansionBet Supporting Irish Racing Apprentice Handicap at Gowran Park on Wednesday.

After his win today, McAteer said:  “She’s tough and she stays well. She probably hasn’t much speed, but stuck at it well to the line and going further she will be a better filly.

“She was very tough and when the boss has one like this you always have a bit of confidence that you can win.

“Big thanks to Kevin (Manning), he told me I would win if I made the running and got her up there early. She got to the line and that is what it is all about.”
