KAREN Guthrie, her voice quivering somewhat, hailed ‘fabulous’ Glenfin as they were crowned county champions again.

A superb performance saw Glenfin dethrone Termon, the An Gaeltacht Lár team winning 7-7 to 2-10.

Glenfin were spurred by the outstanding Yvonne Bonner who scored five goals while captain Guthrie weighed in with five points.

“It’s a fabulous feeling,” Guthrie told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“There’s nothing like it. We just got a really good start to the game. That’s something we probably suffered on in years before.

“God, everybody with turnovers, breaking ball, the girls were just amazing.”

Glenfin arrived with an early blitz, Bonner scoring four goals inside the first 20 minutes.

Guthrie said: “It was about responsibility. The best version of yourself is always good enough. If we gave our best, we felt it would be good enough.

“When you get the opportunities, you have to take them. Yvonne took them unreal well.”
