A DONEGAL man will stand trial at the Central Criminal Court on 13 charges related to alleged child sex offences.

The 44-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Letterkenny District Court.

A book of evidence was served on the accused, who did not speak during a brief hearing.

Garda witness said the man made no response when charged.

The DPP has consented to him being forwarded to the next sitting of the Central Criminal Court in Dublin.

A publication order, in order to protect the identity of the victim, is in place.

The man is currently on bail and Judge Paul Kelly granted bail on the same conditions as heretofore.

Judge Kelly assigned legal aid to solicitor Frank Dorrian and granted two legal counsels.
