At least one of today’s new cases is in Donegal.

Ireland’s cumulative number of positive cases since the outbreak has now passed 30,000. There have now been 30,080 cases.

The one additional death brings the country’s death toll from Covid-19 to 1,778.

Today’s figure is the highest daily figure of cases since the middle of May.

Dr. Ronan Glynn, the acting Chief Medical Officer, said: “I urge everyone to follow the public health advice and keep your distance. Do not underestimate the risks associated with any of your interactions, including with your family, friends or work colleagues.

“Now is not a time to let down your guard – assume that you or those that you meet may be infectious and act accordingly.”
