GARDAÍ in Letterkenny are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in the early hours of this morning.

The incident occurred between 4-4.30am at Sylvan Park.

One occupant of a house in that area was in bed when he heard someone coming up the stairs. He thought it may have been his housemate but his housemate arrived home a while after.

It was then discovered that a number of drawers had been opened and checked through in the housemate’s bedroom.

Nothing was taken from the house. The front door of the house had been left unlocked.

If anyone was in the area of Sylvan Park overnight and noticed anyone in the area, they are asked to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.

A Garda spokesperson said: “We would also appeal to everyone to please take all relevant security precautions at their home at all times but especially before going to bed, check around the house and ensure that it is secure.”
