THE number of Covid-19 tests carried out in Donegal has risen by 40% in the last week.

The HSE confirmed the increased number of tests to Donegal Daily.

In the week ending September 6, 2020, there were a total of 808 Covid-19 tests completed in Donegal.

In the previous two weeks, there were 555 and 576 tests completed respectively.

The Community Test Centre (CTC) for Donegal has moved from O’Donnell Park to a new location on the St Conal’s Hospital campus.

Testing at St Conal’s began on Saturday and testing numbers are expected to show a further sharp increase this week with the new facility said to heighten the HSE’s capacity in Donegal.
