A POPULAR Donegal hotel has announced a temporary closure after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

Arnold’s Hotel, Dunfanaghy confirmed that they closed yesterday morning as they awaited a test result.

At 5pm yesterday, the result returned positive.

“Here at Arnolds, the health and safety of our employees and guests is the number one priority,” the Arnold Family said in a statement on social media.

“We have worked tirelessly since reopening in July to ensure a safe environment in line with all the Government public health guidance, including from the Department of Health and the HSE.

“However, given the prevalence of the virus across the country, there was always a risk. As of 5pm this evening a member of our team has tested positive for COVID- 19.

“Whilst awaiting the test results today, we as a family had already taken a number of precautionary steps including the temporary closure of our hotel this morning. We are working closely with the HSE and will continue to do so.

“We thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation.”
