GARDAÍ have appealed for witnesses to a ‘very sinister attack’ in Letterkenny last week.

At around 6.20am last Tuesday, September 15, two females were out walking in the Long Lane area of Letterkenny.

They were approached by a male, who knocked one of the women to the ground. The woman sustained a minor knee injury in the incident.

The women did not recognise the man, who was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a black hoodie.

After the incident, he made off in the direction of Letterkenny town.

“This was a very sinister attack and we are eager to get to the bottom of it,” a Garda spokesperson said.

Gardaí have launched an investigation and anyone who has any information is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074-9167100.
