THE Donegal Schoolboys League has confirmed that all games under its auspices have been called off until at least October 16.

It follows this evening’s announcement by the Government that Donegal will be under Level 3 restrictions from midnight and those measures will remain in place until October 16.

“As a result of the Government announcement this evening that has raised Donegal to Level 3 Covid restriction status, all fixtures within Donegal Schoolboys/Youth League must cease with immediate effect, until further notice, and for a minimum of 3 weeks (16th October),” the Schoolboys League said.

Today, Donegal had 42 new cases of Covid-19 – the highest daily figure since the outbreak.

Donegal’s 14-day Covid-19 incidence rate has moved up to 122.5 overnight. The new figure is an increase of 16.3 and Donegal is second behind Dublin, where the rate is 140.3. It is more than a two-fold increase from 45.9 a week ago.
