The mortgage payment break for those who have home loans through Donegal County Council will be extended by a further three months.

Minister for Agriculture, Food, and the Marine and Fianna Fáil TD for Donegal Charlie McConalogue said: “2020 has been a hard year financially. Many businesses have shut, people have lost their jobs, and keeping up with repayments on loans will be difficult.

“Donegal moving to Level 3 of the COVID guidelines will impact on jobs and household incomes, particularly on a County so dependent on tourism.

“The repayment break, with no additional costs to the original home loan balance arising for the borrower, is very welcome for homeowners with eligible loans in Donegal. I would urge those interested to contact the local authority urgently,” concluded Minister McConalogue.
