Three more people have died of COVID-19 related illness in Northern Ireland, the Department of Health reports today.
A further 877 new cases of the virus have been detected in the past 24 hours. There have been 199 new cases in the Derry Strabane region.
There have been 6,161 new Covid-19 infections in Northern Ireland in the past week. Belfast has had the highest number of positive cases with 1,554, while 1,463 cases were confirmed in Derry City and Strabane.
Hospital records show that there are 22 patients with Covid-19 in ICU and a total of 140 coronavirus patients in Northern Ireland hospitals. Thirty one of those cases are in Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry, while five patients are in ICU. The crisis level at Altnagelvin is at High (Red) Surge while the South West Acute Hospital is at Amber.
