The number of patients with Covid-19 receiving care at Letterkenny University Hospital has increased to 21.
Three patients have been recorded as critical and are in intensive care. Another patient with a suspected case of Covid-19 is also in ICU.
There are a further three patients at the hospital who are suspected of having the virus. A double-test approach is being take at LUH during the pandemic.
The latest patient figures were released by the HSE at 8pm last night.
Letterkenny, Cavan and Beaumont Hospitals currently have the highest number of Covid-19 patients in the country.
The number of Covid-19 cases at LUH has almost doubled in the past week. Last Monday the hospital recorded 11 confirmed cases.
Nationally, the number of Covid-19 hospitalisations rose to 230 yesterday. There are 32 confirmed cases in ICUs across Ireland’s acute hospitals.
