Letterkenny Hospital shines bright for Baby Loss Awareness

Letterkenny University Hospital is illuminated in pink and blue lights tonight for a very special reason – to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week 2020.

The hospital is taking part in the global ‘Wave of Light’ in remembrance of all babies gone to soon, and in support of their grieving families.

Landmarks and buildings around the world are lighting up to mark the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week. Today, October 15 is also International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

The poignant spectacle lets families know that they are not alone after experiencing the loss of a baby during pregnancy or after. Other families are marking the event privately by lighting a candle in their homes.

If you have been affected by pregnancy or infant loss, support is available from a variety of services in Ireland: https://pregnancyandinfantloss.ie/support-links/
