Met Eireann has issued a weather advisory for all counties ahead of “very wet” and windy weather at the start of this coming week.
Weather warnings may be issued tomorrow as conditions turn unsettled on Monday and Tuesday.
There will be a risk of river and surface flooding, forecasters warn, due to persistent and locally heavy rainfall, coupled with high soil saturation levels.
The weather may also lead to dangerous conditions at the coast, according to Met Eireann: “Unusually high tides combined with strong winds gives an elevated risk of coastal flooding.”
The weather advisory is currently in place from midnight Monday to 6pm Thursday 22nd October. Any colour-coded warnings, if issued, will be released on Sunday.
