THE mother of missing Cian Langelaan has issued a fresh emotional appeal for information about her son.
The 27-year-old has been missing since September 27, when the last positive sighting was recorded as Cian took a taxi from Letterkenny to Horn Head.
A bag containing some of his belongings was found at Horn Head.
Land, sea and air searches have been mounted without success.
“I feel confident that he is no longer in the area where he left his belongings,” Anthea Langelaan said tonight on Crimecall.
“I am very worried.
“We had a big search yesterday, which involved local people, Search Team North West and the Finn Valley Flying Club. There was a sea search the day before.”
Anthea said she was ‘overwhelmed’ by the messages of support and the offers of assistance since she arrived in Donegal to take part in the searches for her son.
“They are keeping me going,” she said.
“I am hoping that he has found a holiday home or that he has left the area and that he is safe. That is all I want to know.
“He is a very sensitive, quiet, gentle soul. He would be very unlikely to make the first move to talk to somebody. He is quite introverted.”
A tearful Anthea added: “If he is with somebody who had kindly taken him in, just let us know that he is well. If I get the message that he is safe, that is all I want to know.”
Sergeant John Gallagher from Milford Garda Station said Cian was reported missing on September 26.
He was sighted in Dunfanaghy on September 22 and a positive sighting also in Letterkenny on September 26 and 27 in the area between Dillon’s Hotel and the Bank of Ireland. On Sunday night, September 27, Cian took a taxi from Letterkenny to Horn Head.
“We can’t rule anything in or out,” Sgt Gallagher said.
Cian is described as being 5’8” in height, is of slim build with blue eyes and sandy hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt and black boots,
