Nine more patients die with Covid-19 in Northern Ireland

Nine more people have died with Covid-19 in Northern Ireland in the past day, the Department of Health reports.

A further 840 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the region.

106 of the new cases are in the Derry City/Strabane council region. A 49%  drop in Covid-19 was reported in the Derry and Strabane District Council area yesterday, three weeks after the introduction of local restrictions.

The total number of deaths associated with Covid-19 in NI is now 680.
