OLLIE Horgan says he is facing something of a selection dilemma as he juggles preparation for a possible play-off with planning to avoid one.
With two home games – against Shamrock Rovers and Waterford – to come, Harps could yet secure automatic safety. At worst, Horgan’s men will have a play-off next month.
A Ryan Connolly penalty gave Harps the win just when it seemed as if their blowing of a two-goal lead earlier in the night had been fatal.
“We’ll see how important the win is,” Horgan told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub afterwards.
“If we put all our eggs in this basket and still end up going to the play-offs, we could be down a lot of bodies.
“There is no decision to make. We have to go for it, but if it fails we have to be prepared for it. We have a number of lads who are hitting suspension and a number of lads who are injured long-term.”
Early goals by Adam Foley and Stephen Folan were cancelled out by Luke McNally and Georgie Kelly before Connolly struck to give Harps their second win in quick succession.
Horgan said: “It’s a great result, fair play to them. It was backs to the walls at times. We need to find that again.”
