Covid-19: Seven deaths, 420 new cases in Northern Ireland

ANOTHER seven Covid-19 related deaths have been announced in Northern Ireland.

All seven deaths occurred within the last 24 hours, the Department of Health has said.

The region’s death toll has risen to 781.

There were another 420 new cases confirmed, bringing to 42,917 the total number of infections since the outbreak.

In the last week, there were 3,909 positive cases with 421 of those in the Derry City and Strabane Council area.

At the moment, there are 396 Covid-19 patients in Northern Ireland hospitals, with 55 of those in intensive care settings.
