OLLIE Horgan says his players were ready for a mental test after Finn Harps secured survival in the Premier Division for a another season.
Harps have been play-off specialists under Horgan’s watch, but tonight’s results mean their supporters don’t have to endure that test this season. Their top flight spot was made safe on a night of drama in Ballybofey.
“It was always going to go to the wire,” Horgan told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“We were prepared for it, mentally as well as physically.
“It was backs-to-the-wall stuff. We probably deserved the bit of luck at the end. We fed off scraps when we came back in August inna small amount of time and we couldn’t get a break.
“To their credit, they dug it out There is a lot of pride there. Where do we go from here, I don’t know, except at least we’re looking forward to the Premier Division.”
