New signage aims to stop those who run afoul of dog laws

New signs are set to be installed in two parts of Letterkenny in a bid to get dog owners to clean up their act.

Residents on the Lismonaghan Road and on the Dromore Road have been left “irate” by dog mess in recent times, according to Letterkenny-Milford Mayor Donal Coyle

Cllr Coyle brought the matter to the Letterkenny-Milford MD meeting this week after receiving numerous requests about the issue. In response, the Litter Warden has planned to erect dog fouling signage in the affected areas.

“Although it is an offence to allow your dog to foul in a public place, this is being ignored by dog walkers,” Cllr Coyle said.

“I believe signage and a campaign would be an appropriate and necessary action.”
