‘Don’t book flights home yet,’ Varadkar advises

TÁNAISTE Leo Varadkar has advised people hoping to come home for Christmas not to book flights just yet.

Ireland will be under Level 5 Covid-19 restrictions until December 1.

The Government say that they are considering asking the public to limit close contacts to family only at Christmas.

In the Dáil this afternoon, Mr Varadkar said: “I think in terms of people booking flights for Christmas to come home, I’d advise them not to do that at the moment.

“I know that’s difficult, I know that’s tough, but Christmas is six weeks away and it is too soon now for people to be booking flights to come home.

“I know that’s a tough message to hear but that is the case for the short term.”
