THE devastated family of missing Derry man Conchur Doherty say his body has now been found.
Conchur entered the River Foyle in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
A large scale operation had taken place by Foyle Search and Rescue along with volunteers and members of the public over the past number of days to locate Conchur. Malin Head Coastguard and the Greencastle Coast Guard also assisted with a search at Lough Foyle earlier this week.
Cousin Aoife Moore posted on Twitter this afternoon that Conchur’s body has now been found.
Aoife posted: “Foyle Search and Rescue found Conchúr’s body earlier today.
“We’ll be forever grateful to them for all they did for us.
“Thank you to everyone who volunteered and messaged our family.”
Almost £3,000 was raised to help with the search for the young Derry man.
