Nine more people have died in Northern Ireland after contracting Covid-19, the Department of Health reports.
Seven of the newly-reported deaths occurred in the past 24 hours.
A further 472 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in Northern Ireland. Thirty four of the new cases were detected in the Derry City and Strabane council area.
Covid restrictions have been extended for a week in Northern Ireland, to be followed by a phased reopening of hospitality businesses. Close contact services and unlicensed premises can reopen on Friday, 20 November.
However, Northern Ireland’s Health Minister Robin Swann said he supported the lifting of restrictions ‘reluctantly’ and expressed fears he will have to ask for more restrictions before Christmas.
