There have been calls for new safety measures and warning signs at the entrance of a Letterkenny street which links to a busy road.
Residents of Loughnagin Heights in Letterkenny have expressed fears over the speed of traffic passing their entrance.
Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh brought the issue to the Letterkenny-Milford MD this month to call for new measures to help residents enter and exit their street safely.
The main road at Loughnagin has an 80km speed limit, and Cllr Kavanagh suggested that warning signs to alert traffic to the entrance would be of benefit “at the absolute minimum”.
The Letterkenny Roads Department has agreed to carry out an assessment of the location and consider what safety measures are required.
