Gardai have appealed for any sighting of an unusual white van in relation to last week’s attempted robbery at Clonmany Post Office.

A man wearing a cap, facemask and dark clothing entered the post office at 5pm on the 11th of November brandishing what appeared to be a weapon.

However, an alarm was raised and the man fled empty-handed.

Garda Sgt Paul Wallace said Gardai are looking for a white Ford Fiesta van which the man used to drive away.

He drove towards Ballyliffin but was later spotted coming back towards Buncana.

Sgt Wallace said the van is quite unusual and is asking people who knows of the whereabouts of such vans to contact them.

He said Gardai have already received some dashcam footage but anybody with any other footage in the area to contact them.

Anybody with any information is asked to contact Buncrana Garda station on 0749320540.
