A NEW residential development in Moville has been given the green light.

Donegal County Council has approved the construction of 35 residential units on a 1.9 hectare site at Glencrow, Moville.

Newtownstewart Construction Ltd sought permission for the erection of six ground floor two-bed apartments, six first-floor two-bed apartments, six two-bed semi-detached bungalows, 15 two-storey three-bed houses and two two-storey four-bed houses.

The application also provided for an onsite sewage pre-treatment plant, connection to the public sewer and all associated site works.

Donegal County Council has granted conditional planning permission for the development.

The local authority has attached 19 conditions to their decision, most of which they say are in the interest of traffic safety, to preserve road draining and to prevent flooding.

All overhead and underground poles and lines shall be set back to the inside line of new footpath at developers expense and no obstructing poles shall be left at the entrance from the public road.

All services are to be completed before the first occupation of any of the units.

The applicant is to pay a contribution of €56,314.65 in respect of public infrastructure and facilities benefiting development in the area of the Planning Authority.

Further, the developer is to provide security in the sum of €5,000 per dwelling for the provision and completion of all services required by the development including roads, sewers, water supply, footpaths, public lighting, open spaces and other services.
