Letterkenny students want to reward a Covid hero this Christmas

Students at a Letterkenny secondary school want to find a pandemic hero and give them a Christmas to remember – with all the trimmings!

YSI Peace of Minds project is a group from Loreto Letterkenny Secondary School.

Their goal is to create positivity and promote mental health awareness.

This is a hard time for everyone during this scary pandemic and we believe we can help to spread positivity and light to our community.

As part of their project the team has come up with an idea called “nominate your hero”.

A Christmas dinner can be really expensive for many families so our team would like to help someone special this year.

To take part in this free event, they would like you to nominate your Christmas Hero.

Did someone help you through this difficult year? Did someone make you smile and lift your spirits when you need it the most? Do you want to give back to someone special this Christmas?

The students have collected a full Christmas dinner which is worth over €200.

This includes a twelve-pound turkey sponsored by Gildea Butchers, a Christmas ham sponsored by Swilly Meats, vegetables sponsored by Sean&Sons, a Christmas Cake sponsored by Macs Mace Deli and drinks and more sponsored by Lidl.

If you would like to nominate a hero please tag your hero in our social media pages and comment why you think they deserve a special gift this Christmas,
