Letterkenny man told to get act together or spend Christmas behind bars

November 27, 2020

A-23-year-old Letterkenny man has been told to “shape up” or face Christmas in jail.

Judge Paul Kelly warned Christopher Brogan that he needs to engage with the Probation Services after a number of incidents.

Brogan, of Lisnennan, was due to engage with the services over a pubic order matter.

However, he told the court that he had suffered two deaths in his family recently, including one in Scotland, and he had to attend the funerals.

Judge Kelly said he was sorry to hear that but that Mr Brogan’s situation could not continue.

He pointed out that five reports had been written up on the accused saying that he had failed to engage with them.

He said that the Probation Services had spent a great deal of time and effort into assisting Brogan but they continued to hit a “blank wall.”

The Judge adjourned the case until December 21st next and warned Brogan “Get your act together or you’ll be spending your Christmas behind bars.”
