Donegal has been issued its first Snow/Ice warning of Winter 2020.
Heavy wintry showers of hail, sleet and snow are expected in Donegal tonight and Thursday.
Accumulations are “likely” in places and there will be reduced visibility on the roads.
Forecasters warn that icy patches forming overnight may cause some travel disruption.
Donegal is the only county in the Republic to receive this Status Yellow winter weather alert today, while Antrim, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Derry have also received similar warnings.
The warning for Donegal is valid from midnight tonight until midnight tomorrow.
Met Éireann has issued a weather advisory for the rest of the week in Ireland due to “sharp to severe frosts and icy stretches” and some wintry showers between Wednesday afternoon and Friday night.
