Inishowen’s 30 Under 30 list is set to be unveiled this week to celebrate the region’s top young entrepreneurs –
The names, to be revealed in full tomorrow, have been selected from a poll ran by Inishowen Development Partnership(IDP) and Innovation Inishowen Skillnet.
The top three winners are Olivia Kelly (Olivia’s Coffee Shop, Moville), Rachel Donaghey (Hilltop Academy Pre-School) and Megan Bonner (Artist and Card Caterer).
The full list, in no particular order, is as follows:
This #Inishowens30Under30 initiative was put in place to highlight the amazing young business people we have locally.
Skillnet Co-Ordinator, Ana McColgan noted “In a year such as this we wanted to celebrate the commitment and resilience as these young entepreneurs continue working hard and driving their businesses forward”.
From a social media post early last week asking for nominations for 30 Inishowen Businesses being led by someone under 30, “we were overwhelmed with the immediate response” said Shauna McClenaghan, Joint CEO of IDP.
“We had our 30 businesses from across the peninsula with male and female participation and then the voting started with over 2700 votes coming over the next couple of day from not only Inishowen but as far away as Sydney Australia and Boston, USA. The Initiative also reached out to our diaspora and got our families and friends who are away involved in the fun”, she added.
Ana developed the project liaising with colleagues in IDP’s enterprise team and the initiative took off.
“We would like to say well done Olivia, Rachel and Megan who topped the poll but also to everybody who put their names forward.”
Ana extended an invitation to all who participated to join Innovation Inishowen Skillnet and IDP for a virtual meeting via Zoom on Tuesday lunch-time where the team will unveil how the IDP Enterprise team led by Sinead McDaid aim to support their inaugural Inishowen 30 Under 30 Business Leaders and introduce the Inishowen 30 Under 30 Academy to facilitate networking, mentoring, business and personal development through training and events going forward.
Ana added, “we would ask you to keep an eye out for the postman as he will be delivering your certificate which we hope you will proudly display in your business” .
Ana concluded “Just to say thank you one and all for embracing this initiative and we look forward to working with you in 2021 and beyond”.
