Letterkenny man to stand trial on drugs charges

A LETTERKENNY man has been sent forward to stand trial on drugs charges.

Shaun Strain (23) of Ros Suilighe, Oldtown, Letterkenny, faces four charges.

Strain is charged with the possession of cannabis and cocaine at Ros Suilighe on May 31, 2019.

Strain is also charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of sale or supply and possession of cocaine for the purpose of sale or supply.

A book of evidence, containing then four charges, was served to Strain’s solicitor Mr Patsy Gallagher.

The DPP has directed that Strain be sent forward to the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court, which commences on January 26, 2021.

Strain was bailed on his own bond of €1,000 and is to be of good behaviour and not commit any further offence.

Judge Alan Mitchell assigned solicitor Mr Patsy Gallagher and one legal counsel. The alibi warning was administered and a section 56 order, relating to videotapes of interviews, was granted.
