Gardai in Donegal are appealing to all road users to never make the poor decision to drive whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The warning comes after a week of detections, including five arrests for drink driving, one arrest for intoxicated in charge of a vehicle and six arrests for drug driving offences.
Gardaí are expecting arrests to increase in numbers as we approach the festive season.
Motorists are again being asked to think about the fatal risks of drink and drug driving.
A spokesperson said: “Should anyone have information in relation to a person who regularly drives under the influence of drink or drugs or information in relation to an immediate danger of someone setting off on a journey with alcohol or drugs in their system then we would urge that person to contact Gardaí and report the matter. You may ring in an anonymous manner if you wish and you may just save a life or two by doing so.”
