Donegal County Council will be dispatching gritters to all main routes in Donegal tonight as temperatures fall to freezing.
Met Eireann is forecasting a cold night for the North West this Saturday with lowest temperatures of 0 to 2 degrees.
The forecast report says: “Cold early tonight with patchy frost setting in under clear skies. Thick cloud and persistent rain will move in through the night, with a risk of localised flooding, and south to southeast winds will become fresh to strong and gusty. Temperatures will fall back to between 0 and 2 degrees but it will become milder after midnight.”
Gritters will be out the following routes from 7pm:
- 06: Inishowen West
- 04: Inishowen South
- 01: National Primary North
- 02: National Primary Central
- 03: National Primary South
- 07: Milford South
- 08: Milford North
- 09: Cill Ulta East
- 10: Cill Ulta West
- 11: Na Rosa
- 12: Binswilly
- 13: Stranorlar North
- 14: Stranorlar East
- 15: Stranorlar West
- 16: Donegal West
- 17: Donegal North
- 18: Donegal South
- 19: Donegal National Secondary
- 05: Inishowen East
- BT: Buncrana Town
- LT: Letterkenny Town
