Glenties woman Paula Roarty is helping people enjoy a fabulous festive feeling at home with her Bows & Wreaths.

The creative Christmas lover has reopened her pop-up shop on Main Street Glenties for last-minute gifts and crafts, or maybe a show-stopping treat to spruce up your own home.

You can shop local this week at Paula’s store, which is a sparkling wonderland of artificial foliage, ribbons and both classic and playful pieces.

Paula’s talent for handmade decor is well-known in the locality, and her works are a familiar sight on many front doors and local businesses. The mum-of-seven first started making bows and wreaths for her children’s local school fundraiser. She was then asked to do courses at the resource centre, which she said was the most rewarding thing she has done.

She said: “I’ve always loved Christmas and I am constantly making things and picking up crafts and artificial pieces abroad. But I found it hard to get what I was looking for, so I decided to start making wreaths for myself.”

After launching her brand last year, the pandemic threatened to knock the cheer from each season.

Thankfully, Paula has opened her doors this December to ensure every Christmas wreath made in her workshop has a chance of finding a home.

The vast majority are suitable for outdoors – although they may not look weather-resistant, Paula has carefully sourced her materials from around the world to get the best long-lasting fabrics and florals that you can use year after year – and some up to 20 years. Customers can also pick-up unique Christmas tree decorations, wreath bases, ribbons, table centrepieces and floral arrangements sourced by Paula, who has a creative eye for all things seasonal.

Her new website is live at bowsandwreaths.com for year-round wreaths. There’s one for every occasion – such as Halloween, Easter, Spring, Summer, Weddings and New Baby – or Paula can create custom orders for homes and businesses.

Pre-Christmas delivery cannot be guaranteed on orders made online, unless special courier requested.
