A MOVILLE woman who became abusive to paramedics and refused to exit an ambulance has appeared in court.
Buncrana District Court heard that an ambulance crew was dispatched to assist an intoxicated female at 11.40pm on April 19, 2019.
Eimear King (41) of Ard na Gualla Duibhe, Moville, was abusive to the ambulance crew.
Paramedics told Gardaí that King had been abusive and refused to exit the ambulance.
Upon the arrival of Gardaí, King exited the ambulance and was, said Sergeant Jim Collins, ’stumbling around and visibly intoxicated’. King was subsequently arrested as Gardai feared for her safety.
Solicitor Mr Ciaran Mac Lochlainn said his client was a 41-year-old single mother who was working as a barber.
“There was a celebration in the house and she had no recollection of the incident,” Mr Mac Lochlainn said.
King was co-operative with Gardaí following her arrest, the court heard.
Judge Paul Kelly asked that King make a €100 contribution to St Vincent de Paul.
The court heard that King suffered serious injuries in a subsequent fall in June 2019 when she had to have part of her skull removed and was in a coma for three weeks after tripping on stairs.
