The darkest day of the year wasn’t so dull in Kerrykeel thanks to Michael and Mary Whoriskey’s dazzling home display.
The amazing festive spectacle continues to shine bright for families looking for some extra Christmas cheer in these weeks.
Here, Mary gives a tour of the winter wonderland at her home:
For the last 16 years, Michael and Mary Whoriskey have extensively lit up their home and garden in support of charity and have raised over €65,000 for several worthy causes.
Traditionally, people travel from near and far to see the display and make donations to the chosen charity. The chosen charity for 2020 is Pieta House.
Donations are being accepted online to compensate for those unable to travel due to Covid restrictions this year. Visit the donation page here: https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/11393696_whoriskey-s-christmas-lights-display-kerrykeel.html
This year may be different, but the outdoor display remains open for families to visit and safely enjoy the 250 decorations that surround the Whoriskeys’ home.
Mary and Michael receive great praise for their year-round dedication to this cheery display, but their biggest reward of all is the joy of donating the proceeds to charities in the New Year.
The Whoriskeys Light Up each evening from 5pm until 11pm. Find the house at the Eircode: F92 F9W4
