A SERVING Garda in the Donegal Division has been temporarily suspended after an alleged breach of Covid-19 measures.

Garda bosses were informed that the Garda attended a ‘lock-in’ at a pub.

It was claimed that the Garda attended the pub with some locals who convened to watch a football match.

The Garda was suspended from duty three weeks ago, pending a full investigation.

There have been over 500 new Covid-19 cases in Donegal over the last two weeks and over 3,700 in total since the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris has been made aware of the matter and the Garda is said to have made admissions.

The identity of the Garda or the pub in question have not been disclosed by then authorities.
