Further rise in Covid-19 patients sees LUH reach capacity

THERE has been a further rise in the number of patients at Letterkenny University Hospital being treated for Covid-19.

The latest figures from the HSE show that, as of 8pm on Tuesday, there were no general or critical care beds available at LUH.

There are now 33 Covid-19 patients at LUH, a rise of three from the previous 24 hours. Three of those patients are in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

There are also five suspected Covid-19 cases at LUH.

Yesterday evening, there were 85 new cases of the coronavirus confirmed in Donegal, where there have been 728 cases in the last 14 days. Only counties Dublin and Cork have seen more new infections in the same period.
