DANIEL O’Donnell has paid tribute to his friend and ‘great talent’ Liam Reilly.

The lead singer of Bagatelle, who was a native of Dundalk, passed away last night aged 65.

The band had hits such as Summer In Dublin, Second Violin and Leeson Street Lady.

In 1990, Reilly represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest, coming joint second with Somewhere In Europe.

He passed away at home yesterday evening, his family confirmed.

“Shocked to hear of the passing of Liam Reilly,” Daniel said.

“Summer in Dublin always takes me back to 1980 when I spent the summer in the capital.

“What a great talent he had. He will live on in the great music he created. My deepest Sympathy to his family. May he Rest In Peace.”
