Motorists are being warned to take care on the roads this morning due to overnight frost.
Icy conditions have been reported in many parts of Donegal, especially in sheltered areas and on local roads.
Donegal County Council dispatched gritters to all main routes this morning from 6am. However motorists should assume that no road is ice-free.
Met Éireann has a Status Yellow Ice Warning in place for the entire country until 10am this morning.
The advice from AA Roadwatch is: “If you’re driving in such conditions, slow down and remember it can take up to ten times longer to stop your vehicle, so allow plenty of extra space from other road users.”
