Remand for man facing criminal damage, assault charges

A DONEGAL man charged with criminal damage and assault has been remanded in custody.

Joseph Colhoun, a 38-year-old with an address at Fortwell, Lower Main Street, Letterkenny, was brought  before Letterkenny District Court.

Colhoun faces two counts of criminal damage and onae of assault at Fortwell on December 30.

A bail application was made on his behalf by solicitor Mr Frank Dorrian.

Two possible alternative addresses, including that of his grandmother, were given to the court, but Gardaí made contact and the occupiers did not consent to Colhoun residing with them.

Judge Paul Kelly adjourned the matter and remanded Colhoun in custody to appear via video link at the January 18 sitting of the court.
