Two men have been arrested after Gardaí swooped on a significant drugs haul in Donegal on Friday.
An estimated €105,000 of suspected cocaine was discovered in the boot of a car which was halted at a checkpoint outside Lifford.
Members of the Letterkenny District Drugs Task Force were conducting an intelligence led operation when the discovery was made.
Gardaí stopped a vehicle at an MIT (mandatory intoxication testing) Checkpoint at approximately 3:10pm yesterday afternoon in Drumbuoy, Lifford.
The vehicle was searched, with approximately 1.5 kilos of suspected cocaine found in a plastic bag concealed inside a clothes bag in the boot of the vehicle.
The occupants of the vehicle, two men in their 20s, were arrested under suspicion of committing an offence contrary to Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
The men were taken to Letterkenny Garda Station. They are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
