Another 6,888 Covid cases with 196 in Donegal

Another eight people have lost their lives through Covid with a further 6,888 cases being recorded today.

Of those new cases, a total of 196 were in Donegal.

There has now been a total of 2,344 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland and 147,613 confirmed cases to date.

There are currently 65 people being treated for Covid at Letterkenny University Hospital.

The number of people in ICU has risen to 125, up six from yesterday.

There has also been 100 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 population stands at 1,291 with Donegal’s incidence rate standing at 1,409 per 100,000 people.

The total number of Covid cases in Donegal over the past 14 days now stands at 2,243.

Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, a further 17 people have died of coronavirus while
another 1,112 people tested positive for Covid-19.
