Letterkenny’s Star of Hope keeps shining during dark days

One of Letterkenny’s largest Christmas lights is set to continue shining this month as a symbol of hope during the pandemic.

The ‘Star of Hope’ greets motorists taking the Polestar Roundabout into and out of Letterkenny every day. Despite other Christmas lights coming down this week, the local Chamber has decided to keep this light shining bright.

The light was also the first display in the town to be illuminated for Christmas 2020. An early switch-on took place on November, with nine-year-old Kalize McGuigan doing the honours.

This January, as Letterkenny faces difficult and challenging times, the lighting of the star aims to give people hope for the future and reassurance that there are brighter days to come.
