Sadness has swept over the village of Castlefin this following the passing of Alice Gamble (née Caulfield).

Mrs Gamble, aged 89, was one of the last original residents of the Emmet Park area.

The much-loved mother and grandmother passed on Monday at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Mrs Gamble’s family have been humbled by an outpouring of sympathies, messages and support they have received in recent days.

Predeceased by her husband, the late Tony Gamble, Alice is mourned by her sons, daughters, their partners, her grandchildren, her sister Isobel Duffy and wider family circle and friends.

Funeral Mass for Mrs Gamble will take place at 1pm Wednesday 20th January at St. Mary’s Church, Castlefin.  In accordance with HSE and Government restrictions, the Mass and interment are strictly private to the immediate family.

Mass will be streamed live via Parish YouTube channel at https://youtube.com/channel/UCZ-6gWNRfuHy5E-p741pRQ

Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
