Donegal County Council has applied for funding for a new safety barrier at a hazardous corner near a local quarry.
A section of barrier on the R251 in Churchill has fallen away over time, and urgent calls have been made to have it replaced.
Councillor Donal ‘Mandy’ Kelly brought the issue to the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District this week.
“This location is on a blind corner outside Churchill Quarries with a big drop down below the road where there is actually two or three houses below the road,” Cllr Kelly said.
“I’m delighted to be told that an application for funding has been put forward for 125meters of barrier to be erected and the works will be carried out in the very near future.”
