A woman who was caught fighting and pulling the hair from another woman in Letterkenny has been given the Probation Act.

Melissa Byrne was fighting with another woman at a bus stop at Ramelton Road on the afternoon of December 4th last.

A large crowd gathered including children after the fight broke out, Letterkenny District Court was told.

Gardai passing in a patrol car had to stop and separate the women who were very aggressive and were pulling eachother’s hair.

They refused to stop and were eventually arrested.

Solicitor for Ms Byrne, Mr Patsy Gallagher, said the row had started at a family event, comments were made in passing and a row broke out.

He said his client was apologetic, pleaded for leniency.
